Global Code of Conduct
Effective: January 1, 2024
Membership in IGAPA implies a binding commitment to the following principles. Violation of this code may result in immediate revocation of accreditation and expulsion from the register.
I. Integrity and Honesty
Members shall at all times act with honesty and integrity. Information provided to public officials, clients, and the media must be factually accurate and verifiable. Misrepresentation of data, intent, or affiliation is strictly prohibited.
II. Compliance with Laws
Members must strictly adhere to the letter and spirit of the law in every jurisdiction of operation, specifically including:
- The OECD Convention on Combating Bribery.
- Local lobbying disclosure regulations.
- The US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and UK Bribery Act where applicable.
III. Conflict of Interest
Members must promptly disclose any potential conflict of interest to their clients and relevant public officials. Serving conflicting interests without express written consent from all parties is a fundamental violation of this code.
IV. Confidentiality
We protect the confidences of our clients and employers. Confidential information obtained during professional duties shall not be used for personal gain or to the detriment of the client, even after the professional relationship has ended.
